Tears and Triumphs

Tears and Triumphs

Today's Journal is From Our President - Robert Kalatschan

Bit of honesty? Leading can be lonely. We or maybe should say I tend to withdraw.

I recognize I’m a bad company to myself. There’s always been decisions to make.

As GIBTK has grown so has the needs and yes the budget. What do I say yes to and harder is to say no.

Our New Hope Home for at-risk boys now has 10 kids. It was our first day in Cambodia. There're guys began to tell a bit of their stories.

Robert with 10 boys in our New Hope Home

Two of the older boys literally broke down to tears. Their stories, concerns of what can happen to their loved siblings and nieces. Boys telling of living on the streets. In forests and yes Thailand, where many of the kids are trafficked too. As I listened I was torn with empathy but to be honest a rage burned within. We gotta do something!!!

Second day we visited our girls homes. To see and feel the love from these girls who call me father…. Knowing that many would be doing things they’d never want to do.

A father’s unconditional hug

Lest I mince my words, reality is way too often is being trafficked! But we of GIBTK get to be an answer! Hearing of their dreams. To be doctors, policemen and policewoman!!! And so many. And working hard to help them achieve their dreams!!!

Girls listening to The Power of Kindness

Yeah maybe leading can get lonely, tough decisions, on and on. But SO WORTH IT!

It’s so many of you who help fund, pray and encourage that gives this leader the strength to keep going. Please come and see! There’s many trips scheduled. We also have a program we call our “friendship program. Simply we connect you to one of our “kids”, no cost. If led, we have several students in Cambodia who need sponsors.

?

Thank you all for everything! I am a blessed man.

"We highly appreciate you and thank you for transforming lives"
